SOAP ME ! is a SMIDGE Study Method for an Inspirational, Deep, Gratifying, Enlightening connection with the Living Word of God, in this free educational forum of the Online Bible Study offered at Obsidian.
Just like the acronym says, we believe the Word of God can wash you, and cleanse you deeply.
The Online Bible Study course is conceptualized in 7 steps, just like there are 7 days of the week, suggesting you dedicate 10 to 20 minutes a day, for a week to immerse yourself into a short passage from the Bible.
this is the step for day 4, in other words the letter P in soaPme!

Pray!

- Respond to God in prayer
- speak audibly to God, let your words be heard
- address God in a respectful way, like you would a wise, reliable and kind friend, who cares about you and loves you
- show God your appreciation, by calling God by a honorific title of your choice, that best reflects your current state of mind, or need (Father, Lord, Healer, Teacher, King, Savior, Master, God Almighty, Prince of Peace, Son of Man etc)
- continue your prayer by expressing your thankfulness for God’s word and verse; repeat the passage from the Bible
- Tell God about any sin, any bad thought, and difficulty this verse reminded you of. Confess, what makes you feel guilty or ashamed. God loves you no matter what, and very much appreciates your honesty and vulnerability.
- God is always a Helper for anyone in need. The greater your need, the greater His help. Ask God for help to apply the passage to your life.
- Leave time to listen for what the Holy Spirit might be saying to you.
- make a note in your study book journal for any feedback you may have received

Please share what Bible passage you have Applied, to your own journey, and your own life. Sharing your insights, troubles, your struggles, challenges, and your attempts at overcoming might help many seekers feel encouraged, widen their horizon, and deepen their understanding. your application of the verse may be the stepping stone for someone else, in a similar situation to find courage to get a smidge closer to God.
