SOAP ME ! is a SMIDGE Study Method for an Inspirational, Deep, Gratifying, Enlightening connection with the Living Word of God, in this free educational forum of the Online Bible Study offered at Obsidian.
Just like the acronym says, we believe the Word of God can wash you, and cleanse you deeply.
The Online Bible Study course is conceptualized in 7 steps, just like there are 7 days of the week, suggesting you dedicate 10 to 20 minutes a day, for a week to immerse yourself into a short passage from the Bible.
this is the step for day 5, in other words the letter M in soapMe!
Meditate!
expand this week’s Better Daily Bible Quote for studying
- Remain silent in a corner or a prayer nook for 5 or 10 minutes to allow for digestion of the lesson
- Certain supplemental means can help further your meditation practice
- some people find the rest and insipration using scented candles, incense sticks, or aroma therapy, or fregreant flowers
- diming the lights, or the safe use of a candle, lava lamp or salt lamp, or a crystal lamp
- soft, instrumental music, such as classical music, or white noise with soothing natural sounds: waves, wind, songbirds
- closing your eyes, assuming a meditatve posture, or relaxing yoga stretches
- standing or sitting facing towards an inward closing corner
- Chi Gong balls, tumbled rocks or crystal spheres to occupy our palms,
- sounding percussion instruments: drum, maracas, cymbal, prayer-mill, gong, triangle (petit fer), singing bowls, etc
- there is ME in meditation. make yourself aware of you, making yourself available as a vessel for the Holy Spirit of God with this simple Peace Pose (Loved/Secured)
- place your right underarm flat against your chest, palm over your heart (loved)
- while placing your left underarm and palm on your tummy (secured)
- use the Peace Pose breathing technique along the pose (see 3.) through this simple breathing exercise:
- inhale to the word LOVE,
- exhale to the word JEHOVAH [God] or: YESHUAH [Jesus]
- Explore your heart, and your spirit to listen for answers – those may be in the form of visuals, sounds, smells, sensations, or a single word, a memory, a vision, a message, a song, an animal or plant, a landscape, a scene, a dream like sequence. Quite often there will be none of that, in which case you simply embrace the peace of this moment with God. God’s love is always enough
